PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

GEORGIA'S ONLY PART 141 SCHOOL

Professional Helicopter Academy is proud to hold the distinction of being Georgia's only Part 141 School.

What does this mean for you?

By operating under the Part 141 designation this means the instruction offered meets strict FAA guidelines and must follow and FAA approved syllabus. The Chief Flight Instructor and Assistant Chief Flight Instructor must take annual check rides with the local FAA Examiner as well as submit to random FAA inspections of school facilities, aircraft, simulators and student and instructor training records.

We want you to not only receive the best training possible but also succeed in the workforce.

As a Part 141 school, Professional Helicopter Academy requires students to complete a minimum number of ground school hours and periodically measures the performance of students through progressive flight exams throughout their training. PHA is committed to training students to the highest possible standards in helicopters.

Part 141 equals training for Veterans and Foreign Nationals

Veterans

Professional Helicopter Academy is approved to offer Veteran Benefits through the Montgomery GI Bill. If you engage in any helicopter training to be paid for by the Veterans GI Bill, the Veterans Administration will require your training be conducted at a Part 141 school.

To be eligible you must have a Private Pilot License and Class 2 Medical. To get started you must fill out the VA form 22-1990 and file it with the Veterans Administration. Professional Helicopter Academy will take care of the rest. To receive reimbursement, at the end of each month you will hand in a training log of all the training activities which will be certified by the VA. PHA will take care of providing the VA with your monthly logs to ensure your payments.

Foreign Nationals

To receive helicopter certification and ratings from the United States FAA, foreign nationals are required to attend a Part 141 training academy. Maintaining Part 141 designation allows Private Helicopter Academy the ability to issue student visas and offer instruction to students from overseas. Accumulating significant flight experience will allow students returning to their home countries the ability to convert their pilot certificates and begin achieving their career goals.
